In mid-2005, Remi Álvarez and Gabriel Lauber, begin to improvise in every musical gesture, as never before had been done, at least in Mexico and in this type of ensemble.

Since its formation until today, the duo has evolved and strengthened its dynamic, impetuous and spontaneous music that characterizes it. This musical association gave birth to another splendid Mexican free jazz ensemble, formed also by Álvarez and Lauber: Antimateria.

What is admirable of Álvarez - Lauber Duo, is that the number of musicians is irrelevant when it is possible to appreciate in their playing, a firm progression of multiple harmonies and overlapping polyrhythms, which lead us to perceive how it can be invigorating free jazz to our souls.
